Hisamitsu Vietnam Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Japanese Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co Inc, opened its new factory in Dong Nai province's Bien Hoa Industrial Park No 2 on May 28.

With an investment of $16.84 million, the factory is expected to increase production of Salonpas pain-relief patches to meet rising demand in the local market and to export to other Asian countries.

With this new factory, total investment of Hisamitsu in its manufacturing facilities in Vietnam is nearly $25.5 million, up from $5 million when the company first entered the country in 1995.
